Compared GPS and GPS Ratings - Do They Help?

What about all these comparisons GPS and GPS ratings you see on the Web? Do they help at all?

Buying your first GPS device can be a confusing experience. They are all essentially the same thing, to show you where you are on a map and tell you how to get where you are going. All major brands, Garmin, Tom Tom, and Magellan, among other things, to make a good product. Even at different prices, the characteristics are very similar.

So how do you go about deciding whether you want a Tom Tom One or Garmin Nuvi 350?

You can spend Anywhere from $ 950 to US $ 150US on a GPS unit. So, if you are like most people, you do not want to spend a few hundred dollars and get the wrong thing.

The first thing you need to do is decide what is important to you.

basic things to look for in a GPS device is the size and quality of the display, clarity of voice instructions, and ease of use while finding places you want to go or typing an address.

Personally, the least expensive GPS devices, I like the Tom Tom One screen the best. The maps show very clearly. In addition, the icons are clear enough to see without having to take off the suction cup.

I really like Garmin's voice prompts, though! They are clear, come at the right time (not too late!), And easy to follow.

Regarding ease of use, I like the user interfaces of all three of the largest manufacturers. However, for the aircraft to lower prices, again, the Tom Tom One might have the most intuitive.

There are many sites on the Internet that claim rates GPS. The problem with this is 1) the analyst has actually use the device, and 2) the analyst not really care about what you do?

That is why, when I started my GPS site (which can be accessed from the link at the bottom), I combed the customer reviews on Amazon and compiled a list of what people were saying about each item.

It's pretty meaningless when comparing the GPS systems by checking which ones have tour - By-turn voice prompts, for example. Almost all of them. What is useful is when a critic spoke of using a Garmin Nuvi when traffic is heavy, with a lot of noise and being able to hear the aircraft loud and clear.

So, I find narrative reviews by customers much more useful as GPS systems or GPS rating comparisons. Ratings and comparisons can be useful, but they are more than a starting point and not something you need to make your final decision.
